How to enter

Two steps. Finish the first one before the festival.

1Online, before the festival
  • Hold a Full Pass for the Stuttgart Bachata Festival 2027. It is the only pass that qualifies.
  • Register online for Jack & Jill. The 15 € entry fee is paid at the door — no advance payment.
  • Registration closes 18:00 on Saturday, 10 April 2027.

17:00Collect your contest number at the reception (until 18:00). You need it to compete.
18:30Competitors’ meeting and warm‑up in the Mainsaal.
18:45The competition begins.

How it works

The competition runs with a minimum of 20 leaders and 20 followers.
A Full Pass for the Stuttgart Bachata Festival 2027 is required.

Random pairings

Unlike competitions danced with a chosen partner, here you are paired by random draw —
and the draw can happen again before each round.

Spontaneity

The format rewards adapting on the spot: to a new partner, to new music. It tests leading,
following, musicality and range.

Multiple rounds

Preliminaries, semi‑finals, finals. You are judged individually in the early rounds and
only in the last rounds as a couple.

Music variety

The organisers and DJs choose the music: a range of tempos and Bachata styles, so you cannot
prepare a routine.

Judging

Judges look at timing, technique, connection, musical interpretation and presentation —
and at how well you connect with a partner you have just met.

Community

Competitive, but built around the social floor. Jack & Jill is one of the highlights of
the weekend for dancers and audience alike.

Judges cast their votes through a dedicated app during the contest and
deliberate once it ends.
